Risk of collapse at the Saint-Esprit-de-Rosemont church

News - March 25th, 2021

Major masonry work started in January at Saint-Esprit-de-Rosemont Church revealed significant risks of collapse. Since then, a security perimeter has been put in place and the site remains in abeyance.

"By settling down to begin work on the facade, the contractor realized that the bell tower threatened to collapse," explains the building manager of the diocese of Montreal, Caroline Clermont.

In order to put passers-by, cyclists or motorists out of danger, a security perimeter was immediately deployed around the century-old church.
