The Ursulines will leave their monastery of Old Québec, a place classified historical monument that they occupied since 1639.
The forty nuns who live there will be relocated to the Jardins d’Évangéline, a private residence for the aged that will be built by the Lokia real estate group in the borough of Beauport. The move will take place in 2018.
"This is a historic moment for us. It's a moment of emotion too. Leaving the mother house is always impressive", confided the superior general of the Ursulines, Sister Cécile Dionne.
