Quebec churches threatened by coronavirus
The Catholic Church has gone through many crises in its long history, but that of the coronavirus is particularly brutal. The financial impact of the absence of parishioners could be fatal to certain parishes.
The Diocese of Quebec does not rule out the closing of churches. Parishes in the Quebec region had to lay off all their staff. Priests even signed up for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) to collect money, as they lost their jobs.
