Saint-Jean-Baptiste : The Challenges of Heritage
There is more in us than what we see. There is more in creation than what one can see.
Alain Mongeau, pastor of Saint-Jean-Baptist, Montréal
This 16 minutes video directed by Olivier Bruno and Lou Kévin Roquais, two youth of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste' parish in Montreal, gave the voice to the various stakeholders involved, in their own way, to the vitality of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, in Montreal. It was put online this August 30 and already almost 700 people have viewed it.
For 12 years now, the parish community opened the challenge of living in its premises. A brilliant testimony of churches' partial recycling, with: Alain Mongeau, pastor of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, André Dubé, sacristan, Pascal Bélanger, organist, Louis Brillant, architect, Pierre Thaddeo, head of the St. Vincent de Paul, Marie-Pierre Beauchemin, resident at the rectory, Catherine Leblanc, resident at the rectory, Dominique Tétreault, manager of la Bande FM, Jean-Marc Giaccopazzi, steward, Christian Marti, churchwarden, Noemie Jean-Bourgeault, coordinator of cultural events, Stephanie Goulet, host of the daycare, Manon Croteau, director, Serge Leathed, Upperkut Communication Agency, Alexandre Gagnier, cooperative of the music teachers. Creative people who renew the legacy of their heritage and who are rediscovering it by regiving meaning to the old stones. With beautiful images in bonus. Good listening!
